The KS-01 wheel sensor is used to transmit information - a signal about passing of the railway wheelset in the place of the installed sensor, photo gallery.
The sensor is mounted on the inner part of the track at the foot of the rail between two sleepers. The device contains one or two upward facing inductive sensors.
As the rail wheel passes over the sensor, its periphery approaches the inductive sensor, which transmits a pulse to the control system and it evaluates the impulse.
It can be used, for example, to count axles when moving wagons using a cable shunting device. If the sensor is fitted with two inductive sensors, the control system is able to evaluate the speed of the passing wagon.
